Cryolipolysis

Clinically proven fat reduction via freezing. Cryolipolysis is an advanced cosmetic treatment used to destroy fat cells. Its principle relies on controlled cooling between -5 and -9 degrees for the non-invasive localised reduction of fat deposits to reshape body contours.

Fat freezing was discovered at Harvard University by Manstein (MD, PhD), and Anderson (MD), when they serendipitously found that the adipose cells within the human body can be frozen, allowing dead cells to leave the body through the lymphatic system, reducing fat. Presently, Cryolipolysis has become one of the most popular methods of fat reduction as it benefits from being non-surgical, non-invasive and allows individuals to resume everyday activities immediately after treatment. Studies have shown fat freezing can reduce fat cells by 22% in a single treatment. Therefore, the number of sessions required is contingent upon one’s aims. Customers can benefit from only one treatment, although multiple treatments are usually required to cover the desired area.

Prior to the treatment, an Anti-Freeze Membrane is placed on the target area. This stops the skin from coming into direct contact with the applicator, preventing any burns.

At HD Aesthetic Technologies, we offer 360 Cryolipolysis Applicators which fit the natural contours of the body and allow you to target a larger surface area. This means that your client can see better results from fewer sessions.

Cryolipolysis has several benefits:

  • Non-surgical / non-invasive procedure which also means no anaesthetic is required.
  • No recovery time, which means everyday activities can be resumed immediately.
  • There is no damage to healthy tissue or skin cells.

"The procedure significantly reduced the circumference in the treated areas, significantly diminishing fat thickness. The mean reduction in fat thickness after treatment was 3.02 cm. Circumference was reduced by a mean of 4.45cm. Weight was unchanged during the treatment, and no adverse effects were observed. Histologic and immunohistochemical analysis confirmed a gradual reduction of fat tissue by programmed cell death. Moreover, the reduction in thickness was accompanied by a significant improvement in microcirculation, and thus, the cellulite. The safety of the method also has been highlighted because it is accompanied by no significant increase in serum liver enzymes or serum lipids"

"Cryolipolysis has demonstrated efficacy in both human and animal studies. Histology findings also confirm the selective reduction of fat in both humans and animals, with evidence of a gradual thinning of the fat layer over a period of two to four months. Importantly, cryolipolysis has not produced any significant adverse side effects in studies to date and any noted effects have been minor and temporary"
